IONA’s First Annual Family Fair was held on August 15, 2009 at the IONA center. This was done as part of an effort to reach out to the local community. Food and clothing stalls as well as a health screening clinic were setup in the parking lot. Over 100 people were screened for diabetes and blood pressure.
City of Warren’s Mayor, Jim Fouts, and several city officials and councilmen attended the fair. Representatives from the U.S. Department of Justice, Community Relations Service, also came to the fair. Clergy from other faiths were also present at the fair.
Many businesses and community members sponsored the fair and volunteered at the fair. Several doctors volunteered at the health clinic.
