Warren – Mosque To Educate Public About Muslims (June 5, 2006)
An informational meeting to educate residents about Islam and Muslims is being offered this
week in the wake of controversy over a new mosque in Warren.
The "Meet Your Neighbors" symposium will be held from 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the Warren
Community Center, 5460 Arden. Religious leaders with the city's newly established mosque, the
Islamic Organization of North America, hope to clear up misunderstandings about their
religion. The symposium is also sponsored by the National Conference for Community and
Justice and the Council on American-Islamic Relations.
